Review from "Machina" 8/98

Tanita Tikaram "The Cappuccino Songs"

(MOTHER)

The edition of her first album in 1988, which was one of the most interesting albums of the year, was Tanita Tikaram's strong accent on the music top. However her next albums were surprisingly weak and the odds were that she was a star of one season. Today, after 10 years since her debut, Tanita surely worked hard. Finaly she succeeded to record the fresh and equal album. Only dissonance is uninteresting version of ABBA's "The Day Before You Came" being far from the original. "The Cappuccino Songs" is successful comeback after years of melancholy music.
